BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (BCOM) ADMISSION AT CHRIST UNIVERSITY

The BCom programme provides a strong foundation level understanding of the functioning of business organizations, commercial transactions and of various specialized operations such as accounting, finance and marketing by offering a comprehensive curriculum. The three year BCom degree program is divided into six semesters. It includes 35 core papers besides English & Language papers. Finance and Marketing Electives are offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters. Students are required to undertake micro project work during the fifth and the sixth semesters.

How should one prepare for admission interviews for a B.COM in Christ University, Bangalore?

There is no major preparation as such. But however there are few key points to be remembered for you to excel in the interview.

The interview will mainly be about you. The panel will ask you to introduce yourself, your extra or co - curricular activities, prior achievements, and some basic current affairs questions. For commerce students, there could be basic questions asked in Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies. So revise your 11th and 12th std concepts completely.

What you need to do?

The first thing that you should keep in mind is, be confident with what you know. You should stick to your points and be confident. In case you don't any question they ask, don't try to blabber and give an answer that makes no sense. Try giving an answer which is somewhat related to the question, or say that you don't know and you will go home and find out. But please don't make up an answer or blabber for the sake of answering.

Grooming plays an important role. Groom yourself well in formal outfits, preferably the university dress code i.e. For girls - knee length Kurtis with sleeves, dupatta (Mandatory), salwar or patiala bottoms and not leggings. Please don't g with figure hugging attires as it may project wrong impressions to the interviewers. For boys - formal pants and formal shirts with tie (Mandatory), preferably clean shave.

When you enter the interview room, wait for the panelist to tell you to sit down and then sit. Don't sit before they instruct. Sit straight and confident. Be humble and polite and be natural. Don’t fake yourself for any reason.

Cut of is 91% for girls and 90% for boys. The 1% difference is because girls score a lot better than boys in general during the boards.
